Pain Management

Pain is an indicator of inflammation, injury, emotional distress, and severe disease. Dr. Hackett can help you feel better, but also understand what your pain means. Her treatments help manage or eliminate pain through the principle of “kinetic chains” or muscle groups that work together that create movement from the spine to your extremities.

Pain that originates in soft tissues (muscles, tendons, and ligaments) and can be managed through releasing muscle spasms and tension with acupuncture. Other types of pain: neuropathy, nerve pain, body aches, joint pain, fibromyalgia, and emotional pain that manifests as body pain all can be addressed with acupuncture, but internal medicine should also be considered to address the root cause.

Acupuncture and natural medicines are the main modalities that Dr. Hackett utilizes, but full-body nearinfrared (NIR/cold laser) technology (very gentle, non-invasive), dry needling (more intense stimulation of the muscles), and electrostim are other options, depending upon your health concerns and needs.

Whether you have migraines, neck, back, shoulder, hip, elbow, knee, hand, or foot pain, Dr. Hackett has very likely treated it over her nearly 20 years in practice. She also advocates utilizing combined modalities of massage, PT, and chiropractic to help you achieve resolution of your pain. She works as efficiently as possible to get you back to doing the things you love.
